North DevonMassage & bodywork
Hands-on treatment that starts by listening. There's no set routine. Each session follows what your body needs on the day.
My approach
I've been a massage therapist for over fourteen years, and before that I was a dancer. Both taught me that bodies don't follow a textbook.
We start with a chat, then I work with what I find. I use a variety of techniques, choosing whichever suits where your body is at, including myofascial release, biodynamic massage, Lympho-Fascial Flow and clinical soft tissue therapy. Over the years I've worked with people living with MS, dementia and mobility problems, and with people at the end of life. I also work alongside osteopaths and acupuncturists.
Bodies first, technique second.

Myofascial release
Fascia is the connective tissue that wraps around and links everything in the body. When it gets tight, you can feel it a long way from where the problem started. I use slow, steady pressure to help those tight, stuck areas soften and let go.
It's good for long-standing aches, old injuries and scar tissue.

BookBiodynamic massage
Biodynamic massage is a psychotherapeutic form of massage. It helps you feel closer and more connected to your body, and to how it responds to and supports you.
Unique to this practice, I use a stethoscope to listen to your stomach rumblings, known as psychoperistalsis. They guide my touch through the session, and they're also a way of hearing how you're digesting the session on a more emotional level.
